Kadhal Oviyam is a 1982 Tamil film directed by P. Bharathiraja. The film went on to receive critical acclaim, became successful at the box office.

Ponni do all works for Sakthi without his knowledge. As Sakthi was blind, he couldnt see Ponni, but he can hear Ponnis salangais sound a ornament which bharathanatiyam dancers wore in their legs. Once when Sakthi put flower to Ambaltemple idol, it fells on Ponni. From that incident Ponni started to think Sakthi as his husband and tells that to Sakthi. Sakthi was happy to hear that and he will accept it.Due to illness, Ponni wont come to meet Sakthi fordays. When Sakthi came to know that she was ill, he goes to her house to see her. Her mothers sees while both talking and enquires who is that person. Ponni says that he is an astrologer and blind. Ponnis mom informs her worker to put food to this guy soundly telling that he looks like an beggar. After she left, Ponni apologizes to Sakthi for her mothers behaviour and when both talk in personal, Nayanam Goundamani hears it and inform to Radharavi. Immediately, Radharavis family goes to Ponnis home for fixing the marriage. But in the engagement, Ponni says that he dont like this marriage. ........
